CHARM Interest Groups

BRINGING CHARM MEMBERS TOGETHER AROUND SHARED WELL-BEING INTERESTS AND TOPICS

Mental Health Interest Group

The Mental Health Interest Group unites healthcare professionals who are committed to improving mental health support systems across the healthcare workforce. Through shared expertise, resource development, and collaborative assessment of needs and gaps, we strive to normalize mental health conversations, reduce stigma, and promote systemic change that prioritizes psychological wellbeing. Our mission is to build a national community that supports, informs, and inspires efforts to strengthen mental health and resilience at every stage of the healthcare journey.

Peer Support Interest Group

The Peer Support Interest Group fosters connection, learning, and collaboration among healthcare professionals dedicated to creating, strengthening, and sustaining peer support programs. We aim to enhance wellbeing and joy in work by leveraging the power of peers and community to support one another in the sacred work of caring for patients and families. Through shared experiences and collective innovation, we work to advance peer support initiatives across organizations nationally and internationally.

Values Alignment Interest Group

The Values Alignment Interest Group is dedicated to understanding and improving the well-being of leaders and frontline clinicians across the health system. We recognize that a significant contributor to stress, disengagement, and misalignment is the gap that often exists between an organization’s stated values and the cultural behaviors experienced in daily practice. Our focus is to explore the factors that influence values and culture alignment, identify shared challenges and opportunities, and promote practices that strengthen trust, collaboration, and organizational integrity. Through shared learning, discussion, and resource development, we aim to support healthier workplaces where clinicians and leaders can thrive.

Well-Being & Work Design Learning Group

The Well-Being Work Design Learning Group is dedicated to advancing clinician and team well-being through the application of work design science—focusing on how task structure, team dynamics, and system processes shape professional fulfillment, efficiency, and engagement. The group serves as a collaborative forum for CHARM member institutions to translate research into practice, share redesign strategies, and build capacity for sustainable organizational change.

Well-Being Centered Leadership Training Interest Group

The Well-Being Centered Leadership Training Interest Group  brings together healthcare leaders, educators, and well-being professionals committed to developing leadership practices that actively support clinician and team well-being. The purpose of the group is to share best practices regarding well-being centered leadership, collaborate with other members across institutions, and build a community of practice. This group focuses on building skills in compassionate leadership, psychological safety, inclusive communication, and systems-aware decision-making. Through shared learning, training frameworks, and practical tools, we aim to strengthen leadership capacity to foster healthy cultures, support professional fulfillment, and sustain meaningful improvements in wellbeing across healthcare organizations.  Participants should be actively working on well-being centered leadership programs at their institutions.
